How Does Drinking Water Prevent Teen Acne?

One reason many teens are struggling with teen acne is because teenagers don’t like drinking water. They don’t understand that soda has no nutritional value and water has the most value. Teens need to realize that acne problems will subside when water is added to a their diet.

Acne will continue to victimize teenagers until teenager’s realize the need to start drinking more water. Water has so many benefits to the body that teenager’s aren’t aware of. Most teenagers don’t enjoy drinking water but they have to weigh the disadvantages of having acne problems and the sacrifices of drinking enough water. Water will win out everytime. By drinking lots of water a day, there will be an immediate reduction in an acne breakout for a teenager that is not accustomed to drinking water. Here are 3 reasons why water is so important.

Teens should consume 8 to 10 glasses of water per day.

The reason why water should be consumed in its proper quantities is because it has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body. When your body is dehydrated inflammation in the body will occur sometimes resulting in an acne breakout. As you drink the right quantities of water there is a rapid reduction of inflammation in the body showing in clear skin. The appearance of acne is a sign of inflammation in the body. The pores in the skin become inflamed due to bacteria clogging the pores. The cells are dehydrated and not nourished enough to ward off infection thus resulting in pimples.

Water flushes out toxins in the body.

Water is a huge benefit to the body because it assists the blood and kidneys in removing wastes and toxins. Signs that you’re drinking enough water is if your urine is clear. If it is dark yellow then you need to consume water immediately to prevent dehydration and the potential of a new acne breakout. Most beverages add toxins to the body. When teenagers realize soda is dehydrating their body and is potentially causing acne, then they’ll reduce their soda consumption and add more water to their diet.

Water carries oxygen to every cell in the body.

When water is consumed in its proper proportion the cells in our bodies are happy. They are receiving enough oxygen (which is their primary need to function properly) to keep our organs and skin healthy. Our cells fight inflammation and bacteria from creating disease in the body. Drinking water greatly helps prevent cell breakdown which reduces the chances of bacteria causing acne to stimulate. If the body is hydrated, acne can’t easily exist.

Teenagers will need to adjust their water intake to reduce teen acne. When they finally realize the true value in drinking water they will see acne being eliminated and acne breakouts reduced. It is a struggle to break the addiction to soft drinks and begin drinking lots of water but the benefits are worth the switch.
