Practical Steps to Prevent Acne

The answer to so many people struggling with acne may be simple which is prevent it from happening. Acne prevention is easier than getting rid of acne. There are so many acne products and acne medications being advertised that acne sufferers are confused on what to use. Most of the products will only produce marginal results and will leave acne sufferers more desperate and frustrated.

There are many practical steps that should be considered in preventing acne. So many people like to tan but tanning will cause acne outbreaks. The suns ultra-violet rays are harsh and will aggravate acne. Stay away from the sun and tanning booths as much as possible until you acne improves.

Using other peoples cell phone or telephones is a way to attract acne. Germs and bacteria is transferred from one person to another causing an acne problem. If you have to use someone elses phone please be sure to talk with the phone away from your face. Do not let the phone touch your face.

Avoid resting your hands on your head when you are sitting at a table. Your hands are more than likely not clean and you will easily pass germs to your face. Your hands should never touch your face unless they are clean. Consider everything you have touched before you use your hands to touch your face.

If you have long hair please do not allow your hair to touch your face. Most women like hair to cover their foreheads but if you are experiencing an acne breakout on your forehead, it may be caused by your hair. Changing your hairstyle may be a temporary fix for acne prevention or maybe your hair can be pulled back. Please be sure to keep your hair washed frequently as well. When you sleep make sure your hair does not touch your face.

Use warm water and a mild anti-acne soap. Anti-acne soaps my be a little more expensive than regular bar soap but its worth the investment. The anti-bacterial effect in the soap will ward off bacteria. As you are washing your face be sure to wash with your hands only. Do not use a hand towel. You do not want to transfer any germs or bacteria to your face.

Women that wear makeup may want to invest in makeup moisturizers marked oil free or non-comedogenic. These types of makeup contain anti-acne medicines. The regular makeup will be a continual problem for women because makeup will clog your pores.

If you have pets do not allow your pets to sleep in your beds. Pet hair and pet dander will contribute to an acne breakout. Be sure to keep your furniture clean from pet hair. Always vacuum your car seats to remove pet hair. Wash your clothing more often or buy a lint brush/roller to remove pet hair.

There are many practical ways to reduce the chances of acne problems occurring. Take the time to think about ways you are contributing to acne outbreaks.
